Queen Anne’s County non-profit selected for national program August 11, 2005
The Foundation for Community Partnerships, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization headquartered in Centreville, Maryland, was one of six Maryland non-profit organizations selected to participate in a special national marketing program called CreateAThon® 2005. In all, 67 organizations from eight counties from Baltimore to the Mid-Shore applied to the program. CreateAThon® is sponsored locally by Octo Design Group of Philadelphia and Purple Cat of Stevensville, Maryland. The Foundation will receive pro-bono public relations and marketing assistance under the agreement. Another Queen Anne’s County non-profit, Future Harvest, was also chosen. The other Maryland organizations that were also selected are: · West End Citizens Association of Cambridge; · Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Towson; · Environmental Fund for Maryland of Baltimore; · United Way of Calvert County of Prince Frederick. CreateAThon® was developed in 1998 by RIGGS, a full-service firm headquartered in Columbia, S.C. In 2002, RIGGS expanded CreateAThon® to form a national network. Since then more than 35 agencies have participated, conducting CreateAThons® in 20 states and three Canadian provinces. The national program has helped more than 535 non-profit organizations with more than 1,128 projects, providing pro bono creative services with an estimated valued of $4.2 million. The Foundation for Community Partnerships, Inc. is a nonprofit, philanthropic community organization serving the Chesapeake Bay region. The Foundation was formed on the belief that successful communities depend on collaboration. Its purpose is to connect the hopes and dreams of the community with the vision of philanthropists by providing an easy and effective way for people to support the issues they care about. Anyone may establish a charitable fund at the Foundation and recommend grants to nonprofit groups they want to support. The Foundation offers personalized service, local expertise and community leadership.
