Why donate to any or all of the funds of the
Foundation
for Community Partnerships?
The Foundation for Community Partnerships is an independent, 501(c)(3) community foundation serving the people of the Chesapeake Bay region. Its purpose is to provide a uniquely efficient and cost-effective framework for individuals, families, groups and businesses to financially support non-profit organizations as well as their communities.
Located in Centreville, Maryland, the Foundation has made a tremendous impact in just a short period of time, granting over $1 million in direct assistance to local charities and touching the lives of thousands of area residents. Fund recipients include a homeless shelter, an after school program serving all schools in Queen Anne's County, Character Counts!, the Corsica River Conservancy, the Kent County High School Stadium Improvement project, and Adopt-A-Bear, which provides gifts to needy children from Anne Arundel, Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot counties. Linda Kohler, Chief Financial Officer, explains, "we have the flexibility to assist many different groups and the expertise on our Board to make sound investments so that donations are put to best use."

Board Members are selected based on their passion to make a difference
in the community now and for generations to come. U.S. Congressman and
board member Frank Kratovil notes, "members have a collective knowledge
base that is unparalleled in our region. We have an insider's knowledge
about program implementation and a results-oriented approach to solving
problems which, when combined, ensure the most effective and efficient
use of donated funds."
Rick Lerner, Board Chair, states, "The Foundation for Community Partnerships is a very special organization with a vision that clearly puts people and their needs first. It actually changes lives with the assistance it provides."
The Foundation for Community Partnerships is an active member of the Council on Foundations and recently received certification of compliance with the national Standards for U.S. Community Foundations (the highest standards in place today for U.S. community foundations). Linda Kohler explains, "We maintain the highest ratio of funds spent on program services and adhere to a board-mandated 9% cap on administrative expenses."
